The September 2021 SST will be an Emerald Kaizo Endgame Tournament. You will have to teambuild for this format. All battles will take place on our custom PokemonChallenges Showdown Server: http://everoddish.com.psim.us/.

In-depth overview of the rules (or check https://bit.ly/2YDrweV):

- All battles must take place on our custom PokemonChallenges Showdown Server and will be initiated using the [Gen 3] Emerald Kaizo format (found under the ROM Hacks category): http://everoddish.com.psim.us/

- Availability Clause: Pokémon unobtainable in Emerald Kaizo before challenging the Elite 4 for the first time are banned.
Mirage Island Clause: Any Pokémon exclusive to Mirage Island is banned.
Shadow Tag Clause: Any Pokémon with the ability Shadow Tag is banned.
For a full list of all Pokémon in Emerald Kaizo see https://bit.ly/3jN1e1E. For a full banlist see https://bit.ly/2Vl1A6i.

- Species Clause: You may only use one Pokémon from each evolutionary family per team.

- The only moves a Pokémon on your team may learn are those that it can learn in Emerald Kaizo. For a full list of all moves available in Emerald Kaizo see https://bit.ly/2YyvANo, for a list of available Move Tutors, TMs, and HMs see https://bit.ly/3zRBeIa (Tutor, TM, and HM compatibility is identical to vanilla Emerald).

- Item Clause: Only held Items legally obtainable in Emerald Kaizo may be used. For a full list see https://bit.ly/2WZCgmZ.

- EV Clause: You may not distribute any EVs among your Pokémon.

- Sleep Clause: You may only put one enemy Pokémon to sleep at a time.

- Confusion Clause: The moves Confuse Ray and Swagger are banned.

- Endless Battle Clause: The combination of Leppa Berry and the move Recycle is banned.

- Double KO Clause: In case of ties the following rules are in place:
- Self-KO Moves (Destiny Bond, Explosion, etc.): Move User loses
- Offensive Recoil (Double-Edge, Overheat, etc.): Attacking Pokémon wins
- Defensive Recoil (Rough Skin): Attacking Pokémon loses
- Passive Damage (Status, Weather, etc): Faster Pokémon loses

- When initiating a match the "Don't allow spectators" function must be ticked OFF. Disallowing spectators from your match will result in a Technical Forfeit.

- Timer: You will have a maximum of 60 seconds per turn to select your moves.

- Only a maximum number of 256 participants may enter, as we cannot handle any higher number of competitors than that.

- Entering the tournament multiple times using burner accounts or somebody else's account will result in immediate disqualification and an indefinite ban from future tournaments.

- The tournament will follow a single set double elimination format (Best of 1 sets). Winners' Finals and Losers' Finals will be a Best of 3 set each, followed by a single set Grand Finals. Grand Finals will be a Best of 5 set, with a 1 Game advantage to the competitor coming from Winners’ side.

- You may only start your game after a Tournament Organizer @Organizer has announced for your Round OR your specific match to start.

- Not starting a match within 5 minutes after an @Organizer has announced a Round start will result in a Technical Forfeit.

- The winner of each match must report the result to the Organizers. Take a screenshot of the winning screen and post it in the results channel. It is mandatory to add '@Organizer' when posting the screenshot to make sure that an Organizer sees it.
An @Organizer will react to your post with  to indicate that the result has been recorded; an Organizer will react to your post with  to indicate that you didn't follow the correct procedure. It is the match winner's responsibility to ensure the result has been recorded properly.
If your report doesn't have a reaction, your result hasn't been recorded yet. Don't panic, an @Organizer will get around to it momentarily.
Please don't double report your matches.

As the metagame develops in the upcoming weeks the above ruleset may be subject to change.

This time there will be a $500 prize pool for this tournament. Third place will win $100, second place will win $150, and the overall tournament winner will receive $250. All winners will have to contact PokemonChallenges directly on Discord to collect their prizes via PayPal.
