Info
The format of the June 2021 SST will be Gen 5 OU Doubles without infinite weather (in-depth explanation below!). You will have to build your own full Gen 5 OU Battle Teams for this format on our custom Pokemonchallenges Showdown Server: http://everoddish.com.psim.us/.
All battles will be 4 vs. 4 Double Battles.
Additionally, all battles will have a custom battle timer.
In-depth overview of the rules this custom format follows, as well as general tournament rules:
- All battles must take place on our custom PokemonChallenges Showdown Server and will be initiated using the [Gen 5] PokemonChallenges Doubles format (found under the B2/W2 Doubles category): http://everoddish.com.psim.us/
- When initiating a match the "Don't allow spectators" function must be ticked OFF. Disallowing spectators from your match will result in a Technical Forfeit.
- Double Battle Format: During Team Preview each player selects four Pokémon from their full Battle Team to battle with. Both players can see their opponent's team while making their decision. At the start of the battle, players send out the first two Pokémon in their party, making a total of four Pokémon on the battlefield. Gameplay continues until a player makes all four of their opponent’s Pokémon faint or until the time limit has expired.
- Time regulation:
- Each battle begins with a 90-second Team Preview phase.
- In each battle players have the following time limits:
7 minutes of Your Time
50 seconds of Move Time
20 minutes of Game Time
THE TIMER MUST BE ON AT ALL TIMES!
TURNING THE TIMER OFF WILL LEAD TO IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION!
- Standard Smogon Gen 5 Doubles OU rules: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/bw-doubles-ou.3606719/ (this includes Evasion Clause, Item Clause, Moody Clause, OHKO Clause, Species Clause, and Sleep Clause, as well as Bans on certain Pokémon, moves, and Items).
- Weather will no longer be infinite. Instead, all weather-setting abilities will work as they do from Gen 6 onwards.
- Only a maximum number of 256 participants may enter, as we cannot handle any higher number of competitors than that. It will be first come, first serve, so make sure to sign up early!
- Entering the tournament multiple times using burner accounts or somebody else's account will result in immediate disqualification and an indefinite ban from future tournaments.
- The tournament will follow a single set double elimination format (Best of 1 sets). Winners' Finals and Losers' Finals will be a Best of 3 set each, followed by a single set Grand Finals. Grand Finals will be a Best of 5 set, with a 1 Game advantage to the competitor coming from Winners side.
- You may only start your game after a Tournament Organizer @Organizer has announced for your Round OR your specific match to start.
- Not starting a match within 5 minutes after an @Organizer has announced a Round start will result in a Technical Forfeit.
