3rd Kwago League Rules

1. Kwago League is open to all members of Filipino go community in OGS regardless of go strength and ranking.
2. Kwago player is a player who registered to join the league.
a. There are 3 ways to register for the 3rd Kwago League tournament in OGS Filipino Go Group:
i. Leave the hashtag #3rdkwago on the Message board in Filipino Go Group in OGS;
ii. Or, leave the hashtag #3rdkwago on the Messenger group Pilipinas Go Group Online;
iii. Or, register your OGS user id on the league registration page (https://braacket.com/tournament/3rdkwago/register).
b. Player may register anytime until February 26, 2022.
c. Tournament invite will be sent to registered kwago players on February 27, 2022. Players have one (1) week to accept invite.
d. Tournament starts on March 7, 2022. Link to tournament https://online-go.com/tournament/86529.
3. Tournament settings.
a. Default game settings. Japanese rule on 19x19 board with 7 days per move, paused on weekend. Automatic komi. No handicap. Nigiri.
b. Round robin tournament type will be used when there are 10 or less players; otherwise, Simultaneous McMahon tournament will be used,
paired by strength.
c. Automatic OGS scoring and tournament ranking is final and irrefutable.
4. League winner. Winner of 3rd Kwago League is an Amigo player who finished highest in the final tournament ranking.
5. Owl. Players may receive owls for league experience, achievements and milestones.
a. Owls are experience points which serves as a criteria for league promotion and an entry pass for non-league tournaments.
b. Each player is eligible to earn owls in one of three (3) ways:
i. Winner of the Kwago League receives 20 owls.
ii. Player promoted to Amigo receives 10 owls.
iii. Player who did not resign or was not disqualified receives 5 owls.
c. Owls are cumulative for each kwago player.
6. League promotion and relegation. At the end of the league, players may be promoted or relegated according to their league result.
a. There are two (2) pangkat of players:
i. Pangkat Amigo. Kwago players who met the promotion criteria. Kwago League winner is from Amigo.
ii. Pangkat Pamago. Kwago players who did not meet the promotion criteria in the previous league. New kwago players start here.
b. To advance to Amigo, maximum two (2) slots are available for players who meet ALL of the following promotion criteria:
i. Player who earned owls in the current league.
ii. And, player who ranked among top two (2) Pamago players in the final tournament standing.
c. Amigo players may be relegated if they meet ANY of the following relegation criteria:
i. Player who ranked last among Amigo players in the final tournament ranking.
ii. Or, player who did not earn owls in the current league.
d. Amigo players as of end of 2KL:

7. All confirmed violation of OGS TOS reported against a kwago player means disqualification from the league.
8. Role of tournament administrator.
a. Post update of results on Braacket site, Discord channel and Messenger group.
b. Make fair and final interpretation of league rules and result.
