Welcome to the Pokémon Unite PR!

This ambitious project aims to infallibly and objectively rank the performance of every team that enters official tournaments throughout the season, without dwelling on the individual results and using the most cutting-edge algorithms or methodologies available. If it were to happen that an imported team should go under another name while retaining at least three players or should a team find anomalies with their disputed tournaments, it is possible to request a data change by contacting the callsign at the end of the text box.

Global Rankings

The complex methodology used to compile the primary ranking is Microsoft's TrueSkill system, an algorithm that is capable of predicting with 99% accuracy the numerical value of a given team. Two variables are utilized: the average skill of a team and its degree of uncertainty. The math behind the actual calculation is anything but a piece of cake; however, the system guarantees that the exact skill of a team is a value within the interval between the sum and the difference of these two numbers. Magical!

Placement Rankings

Another simple yet elegant way to rank teams all around the world is to assign each a predetermined amount of points based on the placement and exclusivity of each official tournament, in full ATP style. Below is the percentage of points obtainable according to the different type of tournament, applied to the table in the "Ranking" section:

World Championship = 100%
International Championships = 50%
Regional Finals = 25%
Monthly Cups = 13%
